As with every subject we teach, MODELING is the most important thing we can do to teach digital citizenship. Now with the Activboards in our classroom this is much easier to do. Students can see first hand how we choose sites and hear as we "think aloud" if this site has valid information that we need. They need to see the thought process that we go through so they can in turn use the same problem solving skills when they are on the internet. This is not something that we can do once, but we must continue to do it and they will grow in their knowledge of digital citizenship. They will also start to hold each other accountable for the actions that they are taking on the internet.
